“Fóra de campo” (off-screen) is that area in permanent latency, as it is not framed. And it is precisely this condition that makes us think that it could manifest itself radically and factually to our senses: because what we perceive in that frame, in that segmented space of a certain scale and composition, seems to be a portion of a totality (re)created by our narrative imagination.
Fóra de campo moves in that terrain between the possible and the factual, a section that allows us to cover heterodox proposals that make up an essential part of the Novos Cinemas programme.
