In homage to agriculture and fertile harvests, CERES is born — a competitive section dedicated to promoting works developed in film and audiovisual education and training centres across Spain and Portugal. Short films created by students will make up this new section, which will be presented at the 09th edition of Novos Cinemas. Pontevedra International Film Festival, held from December 9 to 14, 2025. Each centre may select up to three works to participate in the selection phase.

Novos Cinemas will prioritise films whose screening marks their premiere in Spain or Galicia. Eligible works must have been produced or had their world premiere after January 1, 2024, and must not have been commercially released in Spain or broadcast on public or private television circuits at the time of their competition submission.

The submission period for films runs from July 1 to October 10, 2025.

JURY AND AWARDS:
Three esteemed professionals will award the CERES Prize, which includes a monetary award of €1,000 for the filmmaker of the winning film.
