Four films that explore the discursive possibilities of the medium share the spotlight in the 9th edition of Novos Cinemas. The exploration of the feminine imaginary, the language and the past through the recording of the daily life of three women of different origins, finds a certain resonance in a proposal that finds in a fruitful specular performativity the ideal way to explore relationships between couples. On the other hand, and continuing with the record of the intimate, a sketched myth of Ulysses serves as an alibi to illustrate concepts such as wandering, absence and the return to home. A fourth and observational proposal uses the polysemic concept of postcard to talk about the neighborhoods of our cities, their idiosyncrasy, their internal history and their drift: the profound geographic, ideological and sentimental transformation that threatens them.
